The In-Depth Look:

This is a straight-forward book, that’s all about having comfortable knitwear. The description on the back says, “Casual enough for your favorite pair of jeans, stylish enough for workday wear, this collection of easy knits will put you in a weekend mood! With minimal finishing, projects include a breezy tee as well as cozy pullovers, cardigans, and a jacket. Make every day a Saturday!”

There are 16 patterns here, and while some are tees (3), and some are pullovers (4), most of them (9) are cardigans or jackets. Those proportions are fine with me, actually, because I reach for cardigans about 85% of the time when I need a sweater. There’s something comforting about being able to wrap yourself in something warm and wooly rather than just pulling something on over your head..

This entire collection is all about being comfortable, taking Saturday wear as its guide. Most of them are made in multi-colored/hand-dyed yarn, giving you color options without having to work at it. The sweaters are nice to look at while looking comfortable to wear.

The book itself is simple–straight-forward photos of the sweaters and their patterns. Its size and feel is more like a magazine than a book, but one with nice glossy photos.
