Loop-d-loop Lace

The Quick Review:

It’s no surprise that a book of lace designs from Teva Durham would be unique. Who else would think to turn a traditional square shetland shawl into a dress? Or to drape an ottoman in a lace cover?

These are really lovely designs (more than 30 of them), running the gamut from basic sweaters to gloves, socks, shawls, but also things like pillows and bags. They are NOT run of the mill kind of designs, but that doesn’t mean they’re so avant garde that they’re unwearable, either. I’m all for creative, artistic knitting, but a knitted sweater should be something you can actually wear, and too many “creative” books lose sight of that–but not this one.

It’s a beautiful book, too. Hardcover and substantial in your hand, beautiful photography, and a pleasure to browse through. Well worth the look.

My Gush: Innovative with some really lovely designs.
